Steppenwolf is the eighth studio album from the German rock artist Peter Maffay, released in 1979. The album features songs such as So bist du, which became a big hit in Germany, as well as Steppenwolf and Spuren einer Nacht.

Musically, the album combines rock and pop, with strong melodies and lyrics written by, among others, Bernd Meinunger and Volker Lechtenbrink. The album was recorded at Hansa Tonstudios in Berlin and sold over 1.6 million copies, making it a major commercial success.
