Jeg fikk bli med på «SSNRII» - BØR BØRSONS BRUKTHANDEL

I got to join “SSNRII”

BØR Børson Brukthandel

I got to be part of "SSNRII", and for that I'm damn grateful.

I'm Bør Børson, usually the guy behind the counter at Bør Børson's Second-Hand Shop in Sarpsborg, and now suddenly also the guy shouting a verse on "SSNRII" with Fremmed Rase. It's not something I take for granted. For me, it's simply huge to be able to rap again, and on a track like this, no less.

The track as I experience it.

"SSNRII" is one of those tracks that feels like a jam session condensed into four minutes. It's Fremmed Rase at the base, and then a whole bunch of friends and acquaintances stacked on top: Captain of the ship, Soul Theory, Ben Baller, Gamlerik, DÅRLIG STEMNING, Sivil, Bob, and then me, at the very bottom of the poster, but still in.

Beat by the legend Soul Theory.

The beat is produced by Soul Theory, and he's really crafted something that invites you to rap. It's heavy, but not slow, and the beat has enough breathing room for everyone to be themselves without drowning each other out. The first time I heard it, I mostly thought: "Wow, I really need to make sure I don't mess this up."

Not a given to be involved.

I'm not the one who's been on every single stage in recent years. Much of my time has been spent on the second-hand shop, family, and daily logistics, not chasing verses and studio sessions. That's why it feels like a gift to even be asked to be on a track like this. When I got the request, I was at the grocery store buying diapers, so the contrast was huge.

When you're in a shop daily, packing records, games, and knick-knacks, it's easy to think that your rap chapter might be on pause. Then a beat comes along, a message, and suddenly you're in the booth again, trying to make the words stick. I'm very grateful for that feeling.

Standing in line with your own heroes.

These aren't small fry I'm sharing a track with here. Captain of the ship, Ben Baller, Bob, and the rest have all been doing their thing in the Trøndelag underground and the Sørsia scene long before "SSNRII" was an idea. I have great respect for what they've done, so being on the same track, as one of many voices, feels more like an invitation into a room than something I automatically "deserve."

For my part, it's more about contributing my little corner, doing my job as best I can, and being happy that I even got a spot on the beat.

From second-hand shop to boom bap.

Normally, I'm organizing shelves, pricing goods, and shooting the breeze with people who drop by the shop. Suddenly, I'm laying down verses on a Soul Theory beat for Fremmed Rase instead. The contrast is quite nice: in the shop, I give old things new life, on "SSNRII" it feels a bit like I got new life as a rapper for a little while.

I'm not thinking of this as any "comeback" declaration. I'm thinking more: this was a chance to rap again, with people I respect, on a track I myself want to play loud. And I'm incredibly happy to have gotten that chance.

Same shit, new rapping and a big thank you.

SSNR stands for "Same Shit, New Rapping," and that pretty much describes what's happening here. It's still the same foundation of Trøndelag rap, boom bap, wry observations, and pride, but with new verses, new constellations, and new people on the mic.

My role in all of this is small in the grand scheme of things, but big for me. I got to be involved, I got to open my mouth on a beat again, and I'm genuinely grateful for exactly that. The rest I leave to those who turn up the volume and decide whether "SSNRII" will be the soundtrack to their bus ride, party night, or tidying session at home.

So I'll conclude with:

Peace out.
